DISCONTINUED DESIGN - (Limited stock remains) - This replica of the Met Seley is one of the finest Persian carpets known. It was produced in Iran in the sixteenth century under the patronage of Safavid Shahs. The rug was made at a time when the art of carpet weaving had achieved its greatest heights. The design combines the medallion scheme adapted from book bindings with a field composed of a well-planned system of floral forms on scrolling vines and floating cloud bands of Chinese derivation.
